A dog life jacket with a difference...

Billy my 3 year old Jack Russell follows me everywhere and as a keen fisherman that includes on to my rowing boat. Although I only fish on a canal, Billy’s habit of jumping into the water whenever he gets the chance to chase ducks made me worry that he could get into trouble if his feet tangled in the thick weeds under the water. After a search online there seemed to be quite a few dog life jackets available in the UK, but it was the Ruffwear life jacket that looked the best quality to me.

I decided to buy the Orange Sunset colour as I believed it would stand out better against the green banks of the canal and over hanging willows. The Ruffwear lifejacket arrived quickly and the construction of the lifejacket is superb. Billy fitted the life jacket well and when wearing he’s certainly easy to spot.
I took Billy on my next fishing trip and after I caught a couple was happy to let him have his fun and jump in. The jacket enabled him to float around and swim for longer, all the time being visible from the boat. As there was a slight current in the canal I attached a Flexy lead to the jacket so he couldn’t get to far away from the boat.

I highly recommend this Ruffwear life jacket and believe it to be one of the best available in the UK.
